Obituary

Rose Mary Flick, age 92, of Butler, passed away Wed., May 31, 2023, while under the care of Concordia at Cabot.

Born in Butler on Jan. 11, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Della Arnold Cavalero.

Rose Mary was a lifelong member of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, and she enjoyed the parish's 55 & Alive program for many years.

She was formerly employed by the Spaide Shirt Company, the Butler Country Club, where she worked as a hostess, and as a cook at the Cabana Bar. Rose Mary had a passion for cooking and nothing pleased her more than to stay home and cook for those she loved the most, her family. Special favorites were her homemade rolls and her spaghetti sauce.

The time she spent with family was the most important to her, and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She treasured raising her family, and some of their favorite activities included going on picnics and visits to Armco Park. She and her husband Fred (she called him "Fritz") loved camping both at Lake Erie and Pymatuning and spending time picking fresh fruit and visiting farmers markets.

Rose Mary will be lovingly remembered as a wife and mother who was also a friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband, Frederick V. Flick, whom she married  Oct. 24, 1949;  her children, Denise Streitman and her husband, Francis, of Hellertown, Pa., Stacey Bowman, of Butler, and Daniel B. Flick and his wife, Stacy, of Butler; six grandchildren, Jennifer Ozimek, Jill Lopez, Joshua Streitman, Pati Jo Kuty, Taylor Flick, and Julian Bowman; six great-grandchildren, Chelsey, Ashley, Tony, Paige, Dylan and Dakota; and three great-great grandchildren, Sienna, Aria, and James.
