Ronald J. Young, age 85, of Butler, passed away Friday at his residence.

Born in Butler on January 24, 1931, he was a son of the late Merle C. Young and Grace C. Higgins Young.

Ron was employed for 40 years as a roll grinder at Butler Armco.

He was a graduate of Butler High School Class of 1949.

Ron was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Air Force.

He was a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of American Legion Post #117, the Knights of Columbus Golf League and the Armco Golf League.

Ron is survived by his wife, Shirley E. Sank Young; two sons, Pat Young, of Butler, and Michael J. Young, of Essex, MA; one brother, Gerald M. Young and his wife, Sue, of Land O'Lakes, FL; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

There will be no visitation.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum with Deacon Mitch Natali officiating.

Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.

Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by members of VFW Post #249, American Legion Post #778, and American Legion Post #117.
