Robert Gombash, age 88, of Butler, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018, at VNA Inpatient Hospice.

Born in Goff, Butler County, on October 16, 1929, he was a son of the late Robert and Pearl Katie Boda Gombash.

A 1948 graduate of Butler High School, Bob was employed for 43 years as a tractor operator in the Coil Warehouse at Butler Armco.

He was a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

He belonged to the Armco Retirees Golf League, the Slovak Club, and the Sons of American Legion Post 778.

He is survived by his wife, Nina Schontz Gombash, whom he married September 16, 1955, in Saint Peter Roman Catholic Church; two children, Marcy Rutemiller and her husband, John, of Annapolis, MD, and Alex Gombash and his wife, Rosemarie, of Norfolk, VA; two step-grandchildren; and two step great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

The funeral Mass and burial were held at the convenience of the family.
