Mable Mary Shull Bartmas, age 87, of Butler, died Monday, May 22, 2017, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Butler on Feb. 28, 1930, to the late William A. and Alice Young Shull.

She attended GraceWay Community Church, Butler, and was a lifelong member of the Jefferson Grange.

She was formerly employed by the Singer Sewing Machine Co. and Kresge's Department Store.

Mrs. Bartmas enjoyed crocheting, crafts, birds, flowers and gardening. She also liked to attend bingo outings with her daughter, Joy, and her close friend, Bobbie Taylor. In her younger days she traveled with her husband to area churches and accompanied him on the piano while he sang gospel music.

Mrs. Bartmas is survived by her three daughters, Cynthia L. Carter and her husband, Gerald, of Apollo, PA, and Valli J. Logan and Joy D. Hays, both of Butler; five grandchildren, Emily Gureckis of New Hampshire, Christy Borch of Seven Valleys, PA, Richard Logan III and Raymond "Ryan" Hays Jr., both of Butler, and Trevor Hays of Brackenridge, PA.

She is also survived by six great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and her good friend, Tyler Trimbur, who was like a grandson to her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Paul Bartmas, who passed away Aug. 17, 2007; one granddaughter, Angel Hays; her brother and his wife, William and Lois Shull; and one sister, Chervyl Greene.

Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc, 429 Center Avenue, Butler, on Wednesday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Dave West, of GraceWay Community Church, officiating.

Burial will take place in St. Michael's Cemetery, Butler.
