Obituary

M. JoAnne Young Gurner, age 90, of Butler, passed away Sat., April 23, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Butler December 27, 1931, she was the daughter of the late George P. Young, Sr., and Mildred E. Fisher Young.

She was a member of All Saints Parish, Saint Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.

JoAnne took pride in being a homemaker and caring for her family for many years. She then enjoyed working in retail at The Bon-Ton and Montgomery Ward. She also enjoyed playing Bingo at the Sons and Daughters of Italy, Lodge 1664.

Our mother loved music. One of our fondest memories will be remembering the sound of her beautiful singing filling our home. She loved her children and cherished her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

She will be greatly missed by her three children, Dianne Nemcek and her husband, Mick, of Butler, Nick Gurner, Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Butler, and Gina Bell, of Pittsburgh; her grandchildren, Michael Nemcek and his wife, Annette, Angela Nemcek Mangone and her husband, Eric, Joe Gurner and his wife, Gabriela, Nicole Gurner, Valerie Constantino, Anthony Constantino and his wife, Carly; and one great-granddaughter, Tessa Gurner.

JoAnne was preceded in death by her husband, Nick M. Gurner, Sr., who passed away Sept. 4, 1985; her parents; and five siblings.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Donations may be made in Joanne's memory to the Alzheimer's Association at www.alz.org .

We especially want to thank the caregivers from Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the care they gave to our Mom and family.  Everyone was so kind and caring.
