Geraldine M. Covert, age 87, of Butler, passed away Thurs., May 26, 2022, at Newhaven Court at Clearview.

Born in Butler on June 29, 1934, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Bridget Smith Higgins.

She worked as a clerk at the Butler County Job Center and retired in 1996.

Geraldine was a member of All Saints Parish, Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church.

She is survived by three children, Scott E. Covert and his wife, Michele, of Littlestown, Pa., Christopher A. Covert, of Renfrew, and Shannan M. Dorcy and her husband, Curt, of Butler; one brother, Kenneth Higgins and his wife, Sylvia, of Butler; one sister, Mary Seman and her husband, Stewart, of Hinsdale, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Robert, Jacob, Cyle, Colin, Cameron, and Chloe; five great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer A. Covert, who passed away April 25, 2018; and two brothers, George Higgins and Thomas Higgins.

Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler, on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 noon from All Saints Parish, Saint Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler, with Rev. Kevin C. Fazio officiating.

Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery.
