Gary Lee Skal, age 50, of Butler, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2017.

He was born June 2, 1966, the son of Edward J. Skal and Stella Paganelli Reddick.

He spent most of his professional career in auto body repair, many years of which occurred in Louisiana.  In his personal life, he enjoyed spending time with his daughters.  He loved the wild outdoors and enjoyed cooking both family recipes and Cajun cuisine.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He was appreciative of all God's creatures, as evidenced by many of his pets, be it a snake, tarantula or bat.

He is survived by his parents; two daughters, Amanda Skal, of Gulfport, MS, and Julia Skal, of Butler; three brothers, Martin Skal and his wife, Sandra, of Hedgesville, WV, John Skal and his wife, Nanette, of Cranberry Twp., and Joseph Skal, of Butler; one sister, Karen Skal, of Butler; his former wife, Jennifer Horner and her daughter, Leanna Horner, of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Avenue, Butler, on Friday from 6 p.m.-8 p.m.

A Blessing Service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 8 p.m.
