David Lee Lowery, age 73, of Chicora, formerly of Turtle Creek, Pa, passed away Monday, July 5, at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Dave was born July 22, 1947 to Leroy "Sonny" and Deloris Lowery in Braddock, Pa.

After high school Dave joined the U.S. Army and served in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1970 and returned to Braddock and worked at Continental Can Company until he joined his father's business, Lifetime Railings, in East Pittsburgh, Pa. Dave operated Lifetime Railings until 2006 when he sold the company and retired.

Dave married the former Mary Cicala on Feb. 20, 1970 in Swissvale, Pa. The couple settled in Turtle Creek, where their only child, Marcie, was born.

Dave is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary Cicala Lowery; his sister, Maryann Oleniacz, of Pittsburgh; and his daughter Marcie Friel and her husband, Joseph, of Chicora, and their children, Josh, of Butler, and Jacob, David and Rachel, of Chicora.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were private, and burial took place in Good Shepherd Cemetery in Monroeville, Pa.
