Carole Marie Boice, age 67, of Butler, passed away Sat., Oct. 16, 2021, in Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born March 25, 1954 in Butler, she was a daughter of the late John and Leonora Gulchik Peplowski.

Carole worked as a machinist at Oberg Industries. She retired in 2019.

She loved the outdoors and doing yardwork. She enjoyed bowling, and she particularly loved taking day trips with her soulmate and best friend, Jim Somerville.

But what perhaps gave her the greatest satisfaction was the clowns she handcrafted and donated to patients at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Carole is survived by one son, William Boice, of Butler; one daughter, Michelle Parsons, of Butler; three grandchildren, Johnny Parsons, of North Carolina, Caitlin Parsons, of Alverton, Pa., and Racheal Sinks, of Girard, Ill.; one brother, John Michael Peplowski, of East Butler; three sisters, Leona Osche and her husband, Gary, of East Butler, Joann Collins, of East Butler, and Debra Toward, of Sarver; her soulmate, Jim Somerville, of Butler; three stepchildren, Jeannette Lynn Somerville, of Erie, Thomas James Somerville and his wife, Angela, of Somerset, and James Thomas Somerville and his wife, Renae, of Rockwood, Pa.; eight step-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Boice, who passed away August 20, 2010; one sister, LuAnn Lopiccolo; and one brother-in-law, Carl Lopiccolo.

Friends will be received in the Martin Funeral Home, Inc., 429 Center Ave., Butler, on Sat., Oct. 23, from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Funeral services and burial will be private.
